Privacy policy

Khedma connects people who need home services in Lebanon with professionals (“Pros”). This policy covers the Khedma app for customers and the Khedma Pro app for professionals, and explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how you can delete it.
Your account
To use either app you create an account with your name, your email address, your phone number and a password. We need your phone number so that a Pro and a customer can reach each other about a job, and your email so we can identify your account and contact you.
We do not store your password itself, only a scrambled (salted and hashed) version we cannot read. The app keeps you signed in with a secret token stored in your phone’s secure storage (the iOS Keychain).
We do not check that your email address or phone number belong to you. Please give real ones.
What stays on your phone
Your chosen area, your saved addresses (with their optional map pins) and your saved Pros stay on your phone. The app also keeps a copy of your latest requests so it opens quickly and works offline.
What we store on our servers
Our servers (provided by Cloudflare) keep your account details and everything about your requests: the service, when you want it, your area and address, the map pin if you added one, your description, the photos you attach, the name and phone number you gave for the job, the Pro who took it, the steps the job went through and when, the price the Pro entered and whether you confirmed it, your e-receipt, your rating and comment, and messages you send us about a job.
If you use the Pro app, we also keep your Pro profile link, the jobs you accept, the prices you enter and your earnings totals.
Who sees what
Before a Pro accepts your request, Pros in that trade and area can see the service, your description, your photos, when you want it and your area. They cannot see your name, phone number or exact address.
When a Pro accepts, that Pro (and only that Pro) can see your name, phone number, address, map pin and photos, so they can reach you and find you. You can see the Pro’s name, photo and phone number so you can call them.
Khedma’s team can see all of the above, including prices and messages, so we can help when something goes wrong and make sure the price entered by the Pro matches what you paid. Your email address is never shown to other customers or Pros.
Prices and e-receipts
When a Pro finishes a job they enter the price they were paid, and we ask you whether that is what you paid. If you say yes, your e-receipt is created. If you say no, you can tell us what you paid and why, and we help settle it. We keep these records, and a copy of each confirmed receipt is emailed to our support inbox.
You can save a receipt as a PDF. That file is created on your phone and stays wherever you save or send it.
Photos of the problem (optional)
On the request form you can take a photo, or choose up to three, to show the problem. The app only reads the photos you pick.
When you send the request, the photos are uploaded to our storage (provided by Cloudflare) and the Pro who takes the job can see them through private links that cannot be guessed. Photos are deleted from our storage after 30 days.
Photos can contain hidden details such as where and when they were taken. We remove that hidden information from JPEG photos when they are uploaded, but the picture itself is kept, so only send photos you are happy for the Pro to see.
Your location (optional)
The customer app can drop a pin on the map for your address so the Pro can find you. This is optional: you can always type your address.
The app asks for your location only when you tap “Use my location”, and only while the app is open. iOS shows its own permission prompt first, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. We never track your location in the background. You can also place the pin by moving the map by hand without allowing location access.
The map is provided by Apple Maps; Apple’s privacy policy applies to how it handles map use. The Pro app never asks for your location.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app registers your phone with our servers so we can tell you what is happening: for a customer that a Pro accepted, is on the way, or asks you to confirm a price; for a Pro that a new request is available or a customer answered. Notifications are delivered through Apple’s push service and Expo’s push service, which see the notification text and a random token for your phone. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone’s Settings.
Companies that help us run the service
Cloudflare hosts our servers, database and photo storage. Resend delivers the emails we send to our support inbox (and codes to reset a password, when that is switched on). Expo delivers push notifications. Apple provides maps and push. They process your information only to provide these services to us.
How we use it
To connect you with a Pro, run the job from request to receipt, contact you about it, keep a record of what was paid, handle problems and disputes, keep the service safe, and improve it.
The apps have no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and we do not sell your information.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time inside the app: Account, then “Delete my account”. This signs you out everywhere and erases your name, email address, phone number and password. On your past jobs it also erases your address, map pin, photos, notes and the name and phone number you gave. Jobs still open are cancelled (customers) or handed back to other Pros (Pros).
The record that a job happened and what was paid for it stays, without your personal details, because it is part of the other person’s earnings and our accounts. Messages we send each other about a job are erased. Photos are deleted from storage 30 days after they were uploaded whether or not you delete your account. Emails we already received in our support inbox are kept for as long as we need them to run the service and meet legal obligations; write to us to ask for them to be deleted.
Without deleting your account you can ask us to see or correct what we hold about you by contacting us.
Security
We take reasonable care to protect your information: passwords are stored only in scrambled form, connections are encrypted, and each account can only see its own jobs. No system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive details such as payment card numbers.
Children
The apps are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
